The visa process stage begins once a candidate has the minimum credential requirements (CGFNS certificate or NCLEX + IELTS) necessary to file a petition for immigration. Specific documents including the following will be necessary to file a petition in your behalf. 10th or 12th grade certificates Nursing diploma IELTS transcript Nursing registration Nursing transcript of records CGFNS certificate or NCLEX passing letter Birth certificates for the applicant and family members to be included in the petition Passport of the candidate and family members included in the petition Employment letters Resume (AAS uses a standard format)
1) The case initiation- packet (that includes the above required documents) is sent to USA. AAS will receive form ETA 9089 from the USA in 1-3 weeks. This has to be signed by the candidate and sent back to the USA for I-140 petition filing. The I-140 petition is filed with USCIS within 2-4 weeks. 2) Receipt notice– This receipt notice contains a 13 digit number issued by USCIS. The USCIS will process your petition and will send you the approval Notice with in 3-6 months. You will be able to check the status of your petition on-line from the time your case has been approved at www.uscis.gov 3) Approval Notice- Is the 1st significant stage in the Visa processing. Once approved, your file will be sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). Two subsequent steps will be taken by the agency namely the Immigration visa fee bill and Packet 3. 4) Immigration Visa Fee Bill (IV Fee Bill)– In this stage, AAS will pay the $400 per person visa fee for both the candidate and one family member (spouse). For those immigrating with more than one family member, the candidate will assume responsibility for paying the visa fee of those not paid by AAS. 5) Packet 3- is the instruction packet issued by the National Visa center. Packet 3 is issued in another 6-8 weeks from the IV Fee Bill. After Packet 3, your file will be transferred to the US embassy indicated in your application. 6) Packet 4- In this stage, the US embassy will issue you an appointment for a personal interview. This includes all members of the family included in the petition. The embassy may require that you submit other documents, among them are: Police clearance Medical examination |
